I have not one but two kids home sick from school today. They’re behaving beautifully, they’re not whiners, they’re not (thank goodness) dangerously or awfully sick … but truth be told it’s still a pain in the butt.
There are so many advantages to working at home but it does make it more of a challenge to call in sick! I know, I know, in many ways it’s much easier for us home-based workers when it comes to adjusting schedules but we just have so much work on hand at the moment it’s getting a bit overwhelming.

Continuing what threatens to be a recurring theme here, today’s post combines both nostalgia and television. Fresh on the heels of completing Season 6 of The West Wing we started looking for another show to watch, and fortuitously landed on Northern Exposure. Oh, what a show!

My husband and I (gosh, I sound like the Queen of England, don’t I?) have been plotting for weeks to get out of town, just for a couple of nights. With four children and busy work schedules, it’s not as easy as we’d hoped.
